Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering will be the first
recipient of the J. 'Lee' Everett Professorship in
Engineering. The
J. 'Lee' Everett Professorship is the fourth endowed
position in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear
Engineering; the first three being the Diefenderfer
Chair established in 2000, and the Guillet Professorship
established in 2003, and the Arthur Glenn Professorship
established in 2005.
J. 'Lee'
Everett Professorship in Engineering is made possible
by James "Lee" Everett III, a Penn
State mechanical engineering alumnus and a former director

Jr. received
his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Penn State in
1981. From 1981 though 1998 he was on the Faculty
of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at
the University of Virginia. Since coming to Penn
State in 1999, he has served as a Professor of Mechanical
and Nuclear Engineering and Chair of Nuclear Engineering
Program. He teaches courses in radiation
interaction with matter, radiation dosimetry, radiation
detection, and general engineering. Brenizer
