Micro Controller |

| The control system is needed to interface the steering mechanisms to the actual inner workings of the car. A microcontroller is the best solution for this problem because it can control the output of the steering devices through simple logic and then operate the car correctly and safely. The scope of this task is rather small, only requiring the interfacing of the three steering mechanisms and the remote control. Therefore, the basic stamp is the better solution since it provides the essential options needed to control the system. | |||||

The basic stamp is not capable of supplying this much power. Power MOSFETs
will be used as switches within the existing circuitry to resolve this
issue. Two MOSFETs will operate the 10-watt relays for the linear actuator
regulating the steering, and the other two MOSFETs will control the 30-watt
relays for the drive motor.
