EMCLab Research: Nuclear Threat Inspection

The objective of this project is to Develop a novel approach to detect shielded special nuclear material using gamma-rays produced by compact superconducting accelerators in low-energy nuclear reactions.

The composite will be made out of lithium-glass rods strategically embedded in a PVT polymer matrix. The placement of the rods will be optimized via modeling.
