Welcome to the Intelligent Vehicles and Systems Group (IVSG) at Penn State University, the research group primarily affiliated with and maintained by Dr. Sean Brennan and his colleagues. Our research is unique in our extensive use of mapped data in control, estimation, and data fusion, with nearly all projects spanning theory to practice. Our research primarily focuses on wheeled vehicles - tractor trailers, passenger vehicles, agricultural vehicles, bomb-disposal robotics, wheelchairs, planetary rovers, and even nuclear cask inspection robots. However, the generality of map-based control has broad impact and our work has made contributions to the fields of emergent behavior and networked systems, brain dynamics, network observability and controllability, advanced signal processing, roadway and terrain mapping, vehicle/driver interaction, and image processing.
2021-11-30: IVSG welcomes Mustapha Salau to the team to complete his BS Honors thesis and MS. Welcome!.
2021-11-15: IVSG welcomes Yao Sun to the team to complete her PhD. Welcome!.
2021-10-27: IVSG member Satya Prasad Maddipatla (First author), alongside collaborators, won the Best Student Paper Award at the Modeling, Estimation and Control Conference (MECC 2021) conference for the paper entitled "Fast Allan Variance (FAVAR) and Dynamic Fast Allan Variance (D-FAVAR) Algorithms for Both Regularly and Irregularly Sampled Data". Congratulations!.
