Student Organizations
Penn State also offers more than 1,000 student organizations across a wide range of academic, professional, service, cultural, recreational, and special-interest areas. Students can discover all recognized organizations and use search and filtering tools to find groups that match their interests at discover.psu.edu/organizations.
As the largest engineering department at Penn State, we have an active and engaged student community with countless opportunities to enhance your academic experience, build professional skills, develop leadership abilities, and connect with fellow students. Our students participate in a wide range of organizations, including professional society student chapters, competition teams, service organizations, honor societies, diversity-focused groups, and special-interest clubs. Many of these organizations are supported by Mechanical Engineering faculty who serve as advisors and mentors, helping students develop professionally while fostering meaningful connections between students, faculty, industry, and alumni.
We encourage all students to get involved, explore new interests, build their professional network, and make the most of their Penn State experience. A comprehensive list of engineering-related student organizations can be found through the Penn State College of Engineering Student Organizations page.
The organizations listed here are just examples of mechanical engineering–related organizations and provide inspiration for the many ways you can get involved at Penn State. To learn more or join a student organization, please visit discover.psu.edu to find contact information.
