Penn State Mechanical Engineering Alumni Society

The Penn State Mechanical Engineering Alumni Society (PSMES) is a group of mechanical engineering alumni who aim to connect with each other and with current students and faculty, promote visibility of the mechanical engineering program, and give back to the department through volunteerism.

Current Initiatives for Alumni

Mechanical Engineering Mentoring Program

The PSMES mentoring program pairs current undergraduate students with alumni who can offer career advice and guidance. PSMES is always looking for mentors. A diverse group of mentor volunteers provides students with a better chance of making that perfect match.

Student Leadership Seminar

PSMES works with student leaders of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) student chapter to provide professional development and to facilitate the transition of leadership from one class to the next.

How to Get Involved

To become a member, please fill out and submit this form. All graduates of the Penn State mechanical engineering program can join, and there are no dues or fees. If you are interested in becoming a board member, contact the PSMES president for more information. We ask that each of our board members has an active role in at least one of our activities.

Penn State graduates who are not mechanical engineering graduates but desire to become a PSMES member can do so either through self-nomination or through nomination by a member. When appropriate, the PSMES Board of Directors may designate non-alumni as honorary members in recognition of acknowledged eminence in some area of engineering or who have rendered outstanding service to the mechanical engineering program.
