Modern aircraft gas turbine engines have advanced to today’s unprecedented levels of: safety, reliability, performance, and environmental sustainability due to developments in architectures and component technologies. This lecture will highlight some of the advancements in: architectures & systems, materials, aerodynamics, low-emissions combustion, more electric/hybrid electric, prognostics & health monitoring, and additive manufacturing.
